WhatsApp, Snapshots, SaaS Mode | GHL NEWS 12-28-2025

December 28, 20257 min read

Welcome to GHL NEWS! In Today's issue:

  • WhatsApp updates

  • SaaS mode bug fixes

  • Snapshot enhancements

Solid updates from GHL even during a holiday week. If you celebrate any during this time I hope you got some time away with HighLevel running your business in the background!

As always, please click at least one of the news items below or reply to this message to make sure you continue to receive GHL NEWS!

In my agency we finished everything we needed for our whitelabel mobile app setup so we expect to see that in the app stores imminently. There are a LOT of steps to that but HighLevel has a dedicated support team for that so across two Zoom calls they did a lot of the work which was nice.

The other thing we're working on is launching our new community around GHL NEWS in January. It is called the Expert Edge and is being designed for GHL users and agency owners like you!

Of course it is built on GHL, will have its own branded mobile app, and leverage all the new features in courses/communities.

The focus will be to help YOU get the most out of HighLevel for your business. Our mantra will be Design, Build, Test, Improve.

Each week and month there will be a theme or topic where I'll create design guidance, implementation video(s), and answer questions in our weekly group calls. Then between those, in the community we'll have support forums where myself and team will answer any GHL questions folks have.

This will be a paid community but we'll be launching it at a very affordable price point, likely $30 - $50/mo. Much more on that in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

This Week's News:

Agent Studio Logging and Emulator

In Agent Studio there is now step-by-step logging of the actions taken as your agents perform their work. During design you also now have an emulator that shows you in realtime what is happening as you make changes and what it looks like from the user perspective.

PayPal Keyless OAuth Integration

HighLevel has introduced a new keyless PayPal integration using OAuth, eliminating the need for manual API keys or credentials. Sub-accounts can now connect PayPal in just a few clicks, significantly speeding up onboarding. The integration also enables Venmo to appear at checkout when available and positions the platform to adopt new PayPal features faster. This modern SDK-based approach improves future compatibility as PayPal expands payment methods. The feature is available in Labs and will be generally available in January 2026.

WhatsApp Media Retention & “Add to Documents”

WhatsApp media files are now reliably stored in the CRM for up to one year, preventing loss due to WhatsApp’s native expiration limits. Both inbound and outbound media are automatically retained without any setup. A new “Add to Documents” option allows teams to permanently save important WhatsApp attachments directly to a contact’s Documents section. This brings WhatsApp file handling in line with Email and SMS workflows. The update improves record completeness and reduces manual workarounds.

Missed Call WhatsApp Back

Missed Call WhatsApp Back automatically sends a WhatsApp message to callers when a business misses a phone call. The feature works out of the box using a pre-approved template and requires no workflows or automation setup. Messages can be customized with dynamic variables and are sent from the default WhatsApp number. This ensures missed calls still turn into conversations where customers are most likely to respond. The result is higher engagement and fewer lost opportunities.

Bug Fixes: Improved SaaS Onboarding & Subscription Handling

Several fixes have been released to improve reliability during SaaS onboarding and subscription management. Phone numbers now save correctly during SaaS v2 checkouts, and sub-accounts are no longer paused unless explicitly configured to do so. New SaaS location creation has also been stabilized to prevent rare setup failures. These changes improve data accuracy and reduce unexpected disruptions. Overall, SaaS client onboarding is now more predictable and reliable.

Improved Stripe Checkout Reliability for SaaS Plans

Stripe checkout links created for SaaS plans now enforce card-only payments. Previously supported methods like ACH or Buy Now Pay Later could cause checkout success while breaking SaaS provisioning. This update ensures checkout and SaaS setup remain aligned every time. No action is required, and the change applies automatically to all new SaaS checkout links. The result is fewer onboarding issues and cleaner client activation.

WhatsApp Message Rate Card Updates

Updated WhatsApp pricing will take effect starting January 1, 2026, reflecting Meta’s latest rate changes. Marketing message rates decrease in some regions and increase in others, while utility and authentication messages see reductions in North America. Service conversations remain free globally within the 24-hour customer service window. All pricing updates are applied automatically with no changes required to workflows or templates. Businesses can continue supporting customers at no cost within the service window.

Guided Onboarding for Snapshots

A new guided onboarding experience has been added to the Snapshot module for first-time users. Step-by-step guidance, videos, and in-app help explain how to create, import, share, and refresh Snapshots. Once a user creates their first Snapshot, the onboarding collapses into a compact help panel to keep the interface clean. This reduces the learning curve while keeping assistance easily accessible. New users can now get productive with Snapshots much faster.

Meta Ads now supported in previously restricted regions (AU / SG / TW)

Meta ad campaigns targeting Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan are now fully supported in HighLevel Ad Manager. Previously blocked by regional restrictions, these locations can now be selected without warning banners or delivery concerns. Campaign creation and publishing follow the standard Ad Manager flow. This unlocks new opportunities for agencies and advertisers operating in these regions. It also removes the need for workarounds or location substitutions.

Workflows: Rich Text Editor for “Add Notes” action

The “Add to Notes” workflow action now includes a rich text editor for improved formatting. Users can apply styling such as bold text, lists, links, and emphasis to make notes easier to scan. Formatted notes appear consistently anywhere contact notes are displayed. This enhancement helps teams highlight key information and create clearer follow-up checklists. Notes are now more useful as an operational reference.

Service Booking Variables Now Available in WhatsApp Templates & Flows

Service booking variables can now be used directly inside WhatsApp Templates and Flows. Previously limited to workflows, these variables now allow appointment and service details to be inserted into WhatsApp messages. This enables more personalized booking confirmations and reminders without extra setup. Messaging remains consistent across workflows, templates, and flows. The update simplifies end-to-end booking communication on WhatsApp.

Mobile UI Improvements – Sorting & Filtering

E-commerce stores now feature improved mobile sorting and filtering on product list pages. Dedicated Sort and Filter buttons provide a cleaner, touch-optimized browsing experience. Filters open in full-screen modals with sticky action buttons and dynamic product counts. Store owners can preview and customize these interactions in the mobile builder. The enhancements improve usability, clarity, and conversion potential on mobile devices.

Simplified Snapshot Listing Experience (Snapshots Marketplace)

The Snapshot Marketplace listing flow has been streamlined to reduce steps and confusion for sellers. Snapshot creators now move directly from “Sell on Marketplace” into the listing module with assets clearly surfaced upfront. A snapshot-only listing path removes unnecessary detours and speeds up publishing. This improves accuracy and transparency when preparing listings. Sellers can now get snapshots live faster and with greater confidence.

Missing Meeting Locations Are Now Automatically Added After Reconnection

Upcoming appointments that were missing meeting links due to temporary video conferencing disconnections are now fixed automatically. Once Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams is reconnected, valid meeting links are added to affected future appointments. This removes the need for manual updates and prevents confusion. The logic applies across all supported video tools. Calendars are now more resilient to temporary integration issues.

Introducing New Templates

A new batch of templates has been released across websites, funnels, email, forms, surveys, social posts, Google Ads, and snapshots. These templates span multiple industries including health, home services, automotive, consulting, and travel. All templates are fully customizable and designed to speed up launch time. This update expands creative options while reducing build effort. Users can deploy professional layouts faster across multiple marketing channels.

Did you know?

If you are an agency owner, you can control the (sometimes) annoying banner announcements in HighLevel? To do so, go to the Agency level, then select Announcements on the left. For each item in the list you can toggle them off or on as well as control the frequency of how often they are displayed.
