Workflow Builder Updates
A lighter week of updates due to holiday/Black Friday in the U.S. but still some good ones as always.
Lots of updates to the new workflow builder, HighLevel is really putting a lot of effort into the new builder which is great to see.
I'll be in the builder quite a lot this coming week as we continue to build out a new base snapshot and building blocks from scratch.
The Universal Elements announcement below will also help there as it lets you save styling on elements subaccount-wide (ex. if you always want your buttons or columns etc to look a certain way you can save those similar to how you can save sections.
As always, please click at least one of the news items or reply to the message to make sure you continue to receive GHL NEWS!
One more thing, I had a few questions this week about our upcoming ACCELERATE HighLevel week (Dec 15 - 19) where I'll be hosting a small group of us and helping people implement the key capabilities they need in their HighLevel accounts:
First was whether it matters which agency/whitelabel your account is under: no it doesn't, provided your account with them has the features enabled that you need/want to implement.
Second was what is the agenda. The agenda is going to be tailored around the folks that register for the program. For each person that joins, we'll have a 1:1 prep call and across all the calls I'll be consolidating all the areas people want to implement and that's what we'll do during the ACCELERATE week.
In other words, the sooner you join, the more of your needs we'll be able to put into the agenda. Also a reminder this is not a course, we'll be working together in your account to get things implemented.
This Week's News:
New Templates
HighLevel released a fresh batch of templates across websites, funnels, emails, forms, surveys, and social posts, plus a new snapshot for an automotive brake & muffler shop. The templates cover industries like Restaurant & Bar, Home Services, Insurance, Legal, and Marketing Agencies.
Course Assessment & Comment Emails
This update introduces six new course assessment email notifications plus a Course Comments email to better connect learners and instructors. Emails fire on quiz submission, assignment submission, and assignment grading, with separate templates for both user and admin. There is also a new notification for instructors when learners post comments on a course. All seven templates are fully editable under Settings → Email Settings → Courses and pull in key course and assessment details via new custom values.
Workflow Update: GPT Action Enhancement
The Workflow GPT Action has been streamlined for the latest GPT-5 model family. When using GPT-5, GPT-5 mini, GPT-5 nano, or GPT-5.1, the Advanced Options section for temperature is now hidden because those models use a fixed temperature of 1. This cleans up the UI so you only see options that actually apply to the selected model. All other models still support full temperature control via Advanced Options as before.
Workflow AI Builder Now Available Across Sub Accounts
The Workflow AI Builder now rolls out automatically to all sub-accounts once it’s enabled at the agency level in Labs. Agencies still retain granular control and can disable AI Builder for specific locations under Automations → Global Workflow Settings → Disable AI Builder. Agency owners visiting a location get a clear popup confirming AI Builder is active with a one-click disable option. This makes it easier to scale AI-assisted workflow creation while preserving control over where it’s used.
Universal Elements in the Builder!
Universal Elements let you save individual items like buttons, forms, nav menus, and icons and sync them account-wide across funnels, websites, blogs, and e-commerce pages. Updating a Universal Element once automatically propagates changes everywhere it’s used, while regular “Template” elements remain static. Guardrails prevent duplicate Universal Elements on the same page, and cloning behavior is tuned so variants become normal elements by default. This creates a scalable, brand-consistent design system that dramatically reduces repetitive editing.
Calendar Services V2 - Mobile App
Available in HighLevel v4.2.0.789+ (and matching mobile builds).
The full Services V2 booking experience is now live in the mobile app, supporting multi-location booking, service variations, add-ons, coupons, staff-specific pricing, and multi-service checkout. Users can build complex service appointments, apply discounts, and see events across monthly, weekly, and list views directly from their phone. Date-specific staff hours and quantity-based add-ons are fully respected in the mobile flow. Future updates will extend this to rescheduling, taxes, processing charges, payments, and additional booking entry points.
Workflow Builder: Performance Boosts and Increased Action Limits
The Workflow Builder has been optimized for smoother performance, especially in large, complex automations. The maximum number of actions has been increased to 600 in both the standard and advanced builders. A live action counter (e.g., “620/600”) now shows exactly how close you are to the limit and highlights when you’ve exceeded it. Together, these changes make building, scrolling, and editing big workflows faster and more predictable.
Workflow Optimizations: Fresh Data for Contacts /Objects, Reliable Math Ops & Correct Task Notifications
This release ensures workflows always work with fresh contact and custom object data, eliminating the need to add “wait” steps just to get updated values. Math operations now pass updated custom values cleanly into the very next step, reducing stale calculations and sync issues. Internal notification actions that include task information now render full task descriptions reliably. Overall, these optimizations make workflow runs more accurate, predictable, and easier to debug.
Button Icons for Form Builder
Form Builder buttons can now include icons using a searchable library of Material Symbols. You toggle icons on via the button settings, pick the symbol you want, and choose whether it appears on the left or right of the label. A live preview shows the icon instantly so you can fine-tune the look and feel. This small UI enhancement adds visual clarity and polish to calls-to-action inside forms.
Selection Micro-Interaction for Featured Product & Collection Elements
For Featured Product and Collections List elements in e-commerce pages, users can now configure items directly from the canvas via double-click. If an item isn’t mapped yet, the selection drawer opens automatically; if it is mapped, the selected product or collection is clearly highlighted. Changes stay in sync between the canvas and sidebar drawer, and subtle highlighting improves visual feedback. This makes assigning and managing products more intuitive without constant sidebar navigation.
Advanced Builder: Bulk enable/disable nodes, selective formatting, and quick-add sticky notes
The Advanced Workflow Builder now supports selection-based bulk actions, letting you enable/disable groups of nodes at once. You can reformat only the selected area to tidy spacing and connections without touching the rest of the canvas. A quick sticky-note feature lets you label selected sections visually, improving collaboration and documentation. These enhancements help teams refactor large workflows faster and keep complex branches organized.
Workflow Builder: Trigger Name UI Improvements
Trigger names in the Workflow Builder now truncate neatly when they’re too long while preserving the full text in a hover tooltip. This avoids layout breakage and clutter from overly verbose names. Users can quickly scan triggers visually, then hover to see the complete name without opening the config. The result is a cleaner, more readable builder interface, especially in busy canvases with many triggers.
Bulk Action Campaign - Enhancements
Bulk Action Email Campaigns now have a smoother setup flow, better validation, and more reliable tracking. Configuration of sender details and drip options is clearer, and image assets from snippet-based templates are consistently included. Error handling and reporting have been improved so issues are easier to spot and correct. These enhancements make bulk campaigns faster to launch and more trustworthy from a reporting standpoint.
GBP Post Scheduler
The GBP Post Scheduler lets you plan, automate, and publish Google Business Profile posts directly from Social Planner. You can schedule updates, offers, and events in advance, post to multiple GBP profiles at once, and use built-in AI to generate optimized content and visuals. This keeps local listings active and on-brand with far less manual effort. Consistent posting via the scheduler can also improve local SEO, engagement, and visibility for clients.
Prospecing Marketing Audit Reports: Website Detection Improvement
HighLevel’s Prospecting Tool now detects and categorizes websites more intelligently for Marketing Audit Reports. It uses multiple fallback sources, including Google Business Profile and Local Listings, to determine whether a business has a site, whether it’s reachable, or whether data is still being fetched. New statuses like No Website Found, Website Found but Not Reachable, and Still Fetching Data create clearer narratives for prospects. This gives agencies more transparent, actionable audit outputs and opens up better conversations around web projects and fixes.
Order Upsell in Forms
You can now add a one-click upsell directly to funnel flows that use native Forms without forcing customers to re-enter their details. A Sell Product element in the form captures the main purchase, and the next funnel step can present an upsell button tied to an additional product. The Order Summary element then reflects both the original item and the upsell if accepted. This makes it much easier to increase average order value while keeping the checkout experience fast and frictionless.
